Update September 2025

16. September 2025

Uniform specifications PDF output as office standard. Quickly individualize cost structures. Contractual deductions centrally at a glance – and more.

Standardized specifications PDF editions

Especially in teamwork, it is important that the PDF outputs of different lists are output consistently, regardless of who initiates this output. NOVA AVA now makes this possible with office standards for PDF outputs that are saved as “defaults”.

All options and settings for the PDF output can be saved in “Preferences” depending on the list type.

Of course, we only allow people who are authorized to do so via “Settings for print options” to make or change such settings. In other words: only roles that have the corresponding authorization for “Save print settings” or “Delete print settings” can create, change or delete standardized PDF outputs.

Price comparison list: improved control of PDF output

The contents of the PDF output price comparison list could previously only be controlled via the display of the table itself. To display the discounts for the offers, for example, they first had to be activated in the table. This is not always very practical.

The PDF output of the price comparison list can therefore now be controlled directly (item contents).

On this occasion, the contents were also grouped more logically.

New catalog function for cost determination

You can use project catalogs to structure your costs individually. If you do this, then you usually use an existing cost structure as a template, e.g. DIN 276. Until now, it has been somewhat cumbersome to create such a copy.

With a new function, you can now create a customizable copy of an existing catalog super fast. Under Catalogs, you will now find a small icon to the right of a catalog that creates this customizable copy.

Central overview: all deductions for order and billing CVs

Various deductions can be specified for the construction invoice when the order is placed.
These include deductions for:

  • Discount on offer
  • Cash discount (payment deadline)
  • Execution (security retention)
  • Warranty (warranty retention)
  • Construction electricity, construction water, signage, etc …

This information has so far been managed in different places in the system, i.e. more thematically and process-related.

To give you a better overview, we have now also brought this content together in the “Contract information” dialog. This allows you to define individual deductions in a clearly structured manner in advance of an order. These deductions are then automatically taken into account in the invoices.

Rounding & rounding differences

We are all familiar with rounding differences. There are many places in the system where rounding is necessary due to decimal places. Whenever decimal places are rounded in between, rounding differences cannot be avoided. Here you can see an example of how rounding differences can occur.

Incremental invoices vs. cumulative invoices:

In order to align the calculation results, we have changed the growth calculation. The growth is now always calculated from the difference between the cumulative results.

Further innovations and improvements

BIMAll component parameters can now be used for the BIM placeholders in the long text of items. Previously, this was only possible for quantity variables.

Textual information from components can now also be used automatically in the item text.
Cost planningIn cost planning, the column names now also contain the version number of the models. This ensures greater clarity.
Cost planningIn BIM-based cost planning, we have improved the assignment of cost groups (e.g. according to DIN276). If, for example, KGR 331 is assigned to a component, all items of the component “inherit” this assignment. If one of the items is assigned a different KGR, the direct assignment to the component is now removed.
Cost planningIt could happen that the list of comparison projects was not displayed completely. We have corrected this.
BillingDiscounts directly at item level were not processed correctly in check calculations. Has been corrected.
Text editorMinor optimizations have been made to the editing of long texts directly in the BOQ table.
Project documentsCalling up the project documents resulted in an error message if the user’s current role in the project did not have the status “Masterview”.
AddressesAfter editing an address, the address list could no longer be scrolled through completely. We have improved this.
AdministrationMinor cosmetic corrections in the processing of BOQ type phases within the department administration.

As you can see, “Uniform specifications for PDF output as office standard” is one of the highlights of this update, but again there are numerous new features and improvements.
