Mühltal, March 2023 – NOVA Building IT GmbH will be presenting its cloud-based application NOVA AVA BIM 5D with new functions for effective construction cost management at the BAU trade fair in Munich from April 17 to 22, 2023: the further developed module for construction time planning and the intelligent price-text service NOVA SmartPool with extended usage options.
With the new schedule module in NOVA AVA, the classic AVA content and the 3D model of a construction project can now be linked to the timeline even more conveniently. The module is also suitable for “free” scheduling, e.g. as part of general project coordination
or contract award planning.
“Time is a key cost factor in every construction project and high-performance construction cost management can no longer do without professional project management with scheduling,” says Felix Grau, Managing Director of NOVA Building IT GmbH. “That’s why we have rethought construction scheduling in NOVA AVA and expanded the module in a user-friendly way.” The full version now available enables users to link schedules with Bill of Quantities, assign BOQ items to individual processes and link processes with components and services directly from the BIM 3D model, among other things. Schedule templates and user control with access authorizations support collaboration between project participants. In addition, the schedules can be dynamically grouped according to various information; for example, processes can be assigned to the executing company, assigned priorities or categorized using your own labels. The user-friendly output of schedules as PDF files is now also possible for all conceivable DIN A formats and with additional selection options for start and end dates.
Simulation of the construction process on the BIM model
One highlight is the new construction process simulation on the building model: this means that the cost development and construction progress can now be followed practically as a movie. According to the set time scale – days, weeks, months – the development of the building is visualized and the costs of the respective completed components are shown for a rough outflow of funds planning.
Find more content faster with the NOVA SmartPool
The SmartPool pools the collective knowledge of the NOVA user community for creating cost calculations and tenders. Users can currently access more than 2.5 million BOQ item descriptions with real market prices from completed or ongoing construction projects and use them for their own projects. This makes the tool the largest German-language library for service descriptions with prices.
In order to work even more effectively with this data, new optional filter options are now available. In addition to the previous full-text search for short and long text, search results can now also be narrowed down in terms of time, differentiated according to billing units or filtered according to trades. The zip code area search supports the search for suitable regional service descriptions with order prices. The SmartPool can also be used to search specifically for content from standard libraries such as STLB-Bau.
