Cost planning

Precise calculation of construction costs plays a central role in modern construction planning. Our software offers you an efficient and flexible function for this: “Cost planning”.

Parallel to the service phases

The NOVA AVA function “Cost planning” accompanies you through the first stages of cost calculation, along the HOAI service phases:

  • when determining a cost framework during service phases 1 (basic evaluation) and 2 (preliminary planning)
  • cost estimation during work phases 3 (design planning) and 4 (approval planning)
  • for the detailed cost calculation in service phase 5 (implementation planning)

Flexible cost breakdown

When cost planning with NOVA AVA, you enjoy a decisive advantage: maximum flexibility in the cost breakdown. This is because the tool offers you four options:
DIN 276: A structured breakdown according to the DIN 276 standard, which is particularly relevant for public building owners.
Trades:

  • A breakdown by trade that is easier for private builders to understand.
  • Award units: A breakdown by partial service specifications.
  • Own project structures: A breakdown according to individual project structures such as construction phases or types of use (residential, office).

And the best thing is that you can use several cost breakdowns at the same time and combine them with each other, for example according to DIN 276 and trades.

Calculating with values, variables and formulas

Cost planning with NOVA AVA allows you to calculate with values, variables or formulas. This allows you to adapt your cost calculations precisely and dynamically to the specific requirements of the project.

Use of comparative projects

Would you like to make your cost planning even more accurate? With NOVA AVA, you can use comparative projects that you can compare using construction price indices or regional factors. Decide at which level of the cost structure you want to work with reference values: either coarser at the level of cost groups 100, 200, 300 etc. or finer at 310, 320 or 330, for example.

Model-based cost planning (BIM)

Optionally, you can also carry out your cost planning with model support according to the BIM methodology – using an IFC model, from which NOVA AVA then draws all the data relevant for cost calculation. To do this, you need the NOVA AVA add-on “BIM”. You can find more information here.

And what happens next?

Once the cost calculation has been completed with service phase 5, service phase 6 involves the creation of service specifications in preparation for awarding the contract. The next NOVA AVA function is available for this: “Bills of quantities“. If you have already worked with items in the cost calculation, you can have NOVA AVA generate the bills of quantities automatically. You can find out how to work with bills of quantities here.
