New BIM technology and the HOAI are the main highlights of this update. Also new: a schedule with cost tracking and a new dashboard.
Over the weekend of October 24 and 25, NOVA AVA received a massive update—the biggest update it has ever received.
As a result, NOVA AVA has been equipped with new BIM technology since the weekend. The technology previously in use has been replaced. This not only reduces processing times to a fraction of what they were—making the processing of large models, for example, significantly faster—but it also removes the barriers that previously prevented the implementation of new, helpful features.
There are also major new features in the Dashboard section and in the Scheduling add-on, which now includes cost-tracking capabilities.
And then the new HOAI add-on was launched as a free beta.
New BIM Technology in the BIM Viewer
NOVA AVA now has a new BIM viewer that makes working with BIM in NOVA AVA even more fun! The new viewer is built on a new technological foundation. It’s extremely fast and offers many new and helpful features for working with IFC 3D models:

- Project status – Project cost trends

Scheduling: New Section for Cost Tracking
If you’ve linked BOQ positions to your task planning, the new cost trend lines in the schedule show you at a glance how your project’s costs will evolve over the course of the project:

- Target values: contracted service
- Actual values: verified work
- Billed: billed work
- Forecast: expected total output

| Schedule | For activities that are locked in the schedule, the activity assignments to the line items can no longer be changed in the BOQ either. |
| Cost Analysis | In the cost analysis, the “Production Costs” column is now only available if the “Cost Estimation” add-on is also active. |

| Order | In the Order/Amendments module, both main order and amendment line items can now be linked directly to tasks in schedules. |

| Billing | It is now possible to correctly edit the net amount of an invoice of the type “Advance Payment Without Measurement” after the fact. |
| Billing | Data entry sheets that have been released for billing are now automatically locked for editing actual quantities. Editing is only possible by revoking the approval for billing, which is only possible if the data entry sheet has not yet been included in an invoice. Therefore, the relevant invoice may need to be deleted first. |
| Quantity Survey | When entering or editing cost estimates in Work/Quantity Survey, the BOQ-related total values for “Incremental” and “Cumulative” are now updated directly. |
| General | The dialog for inserting placeholders into the long text of items or in the print designer has been visually redesigned and now offers a better overview, a search function, and an easier way to insert multiple placeholders at once. |
| Administration | User groups in departments are no longer required to have a group role. |
| The display and output of supplier attributes in the Tender and Quote/Award module have been corrected, and placeholders for print and email templates have been provided. | |
| Excel | In Excel files generated by NOVA AVA, certain actions would cause error messages depending on the version of Excel used. This has been corrected. |
