The NOVA AVA updates from 2021 meant continuous further development and improvement, with many small and large innovations that specifically simplify the everyday work of planners, contractors and decision-makers. From extended cost planning functions and new add-ons to the optimization of mobile applications: The updates show how consistently NOVA AVA responds to practical requirements and at the same time sets new standards in BIM, AVA and data exchange.
In addition to technical highlights such as the introduction of the auction module, the IFC4 standard and new GAEB certifications, many details that often make the decisive difference have also been improved – such as shortcuts, print functions, favorites and activity logs. The interaction between the app and platform has also been further strengthened and functions such as filters, document overviews and project catalogs have been specifically revised.
2021 stood for stability, security and structure – with many clever solutions that focus on user-friendliness and efficiency.

Unspectacularly practical
and right at the beginning of the year there’s something new from the NOVA AVA factory:
Free referencing in cost planning:
now all result lines can be referenced in calculations, simply call up the desired cost group number with the $ sign, by the way: circular references are recognized immediately
not so easy to program on the web – the new shortcuts for keyboard fans:
Delete rows with DEL/BACKspace/Ctrl+J
Insert rows with F9/Ctrl+D
Retrieve content from the cell above with F2
Mark sections:
with the new function in the context menu, the contents of a BOQ section can now be marked and further processed with one click
Login logic for admins:
even if all licenses are occupied: from now on, the admin can always enter and perform administrative tasks
New fields for check invoices:
The “Checked invoice total” is now available for submission to the client for output in the lists and new placeholders are also available for the payment instruction before and after the discount period has expired
Download GAEB quotations:
previously had to be done individually -> now there is an option to download all quotations at once with one click
BIM BOQ container export greatly accelerated:
Of course, a system must be able to process a decent amount of data – preferably nice and fast

March 2021: Measurement app improved, add-ons can be booked directly
NOVA measurement app V2.5
It has it all!
The NOVA measurement app is the mobile companion to our cloud services for construction invoicing. The app for iOS and Android supports both conventional and 3D model-based measurement calculation. Online and offline directly on your mobile device.
We have implemented these new features in the current release V2.5:
Export and share measurement data as a GAEB X31 file
3D viewer activated in landscape format for an improved display of the model
Direct billing of components in the 3D model, convenient selection of the respective services that are linked to the component
Sections in the 3D model for faster navigation to components
Simplified selection and billing of all components of a storey linked to the service
And to try it out, we have integrated a demo project into the app. Take a look at it!

From now on, all add-ons can be booked directly in the “My account” area. And we have introduced a new simple rule for ordering upgrades: every time a package is changed, a new subscription starts and we charge the respective credit for the remaining term.

April 2021: New add-on for inverse auctions
New add-on: Inverse Auctions
Brand new auction module for price negotiations
With the new auction module, you can invite participants in a tender to an inverse auction as part of the renegotiation process. The bidders can undercut each other in the auction cockpit by submitting flat-rate bids. During the auction, the auction monitor shows you live how the prices are falling – exciting!
The auction module can be booked as an add-on to the Easy and Business packages.

This new print list can be used to create itemized outputs of the measurement determination. The document is usually signed by representatives of the client and the contractor.

Update V4: The new NOVA jobs
The NOVA jobs are technical background processes and are started for processes such as expenses, exports and imports. The big advantage: what you previously had to wait for is now done by the NOVA jobs and you can simply continue working during this time. As soon as the result is available, e.g. a PDF, a GAEB or an IFC file has been processed, it can be accessed directly via the NOVA job list.

GAEB XML 3.3 Certificate
Always up to date!
In terms of data exchange and interfaces, NOVA AVA supports the current GAEB XML 3.3 standard. NOVA AVA is one of the first applications to be officially certified by the BVBS for the areas of AVA and construction.

The extended integration of the current IFC4 format brings new features for the BIM process in NOVA AVA:
Rooms and openings can now be visualized in the viewer
Room boundary surfaces can be processed for cost planning and calculations
The element types for zones and systems are processed
The properties for classifications (e.g. cost groups) are fully supported
